Garden Refuge is dedicated to providing compassionate, trauma-informed mental health services to individuals and families in Springfield and via telehealth to surrounding communities. We create a safe, supportive space where clients can heal, grow, and build resilience.
Philosophy
At the Garden Refuge, we strive to provide an innovative, balanced and positive work environment for our clinicians so they in turn can provide excellent client care. Our long-term goal is to become a research-informed training hub for interns and local clinicians, where we innovate to build access to mental health care for underserved populations. Currently, you must be clinically licensed to apply.

Office Time
We use an office sharing model. W2 clinicians have access to 15 hours of in office time. Clinical supervisors and Associate Clinical Supervisors need to be on site with interns approximately 20 hours per week.

Positions
Clinical supervisor bills at $170/session - Seeking 1
Clinically licensed.
Minimum 7 years of experience post clinical licensure.
Experience with TherapyNotes or similar EHR desired.
Paneled with BCBS or Aetna preferred.
Currently seeing 7 clients preferred.
Knows ACA ethical guidelines and has a strong ethical focus.
Maintains a caseload of 20 clients per week.
Punctual starting and ending sessions.
Oversees 1-3 interns:
Trains on EHR and other office/billing related issues.
Provides weekly supervision, alternating intern group and individual.
Provides other training as needed (i.e. recommends safety procedures).
Establishes a positive office culture.
Liaisons with the Board of Directors as needed and requested.
Opens/closes the office unless otherwise agreed upon with the Office Manager.
Is aware of the importance of cultural humility, especially when working with clients of all backgrounds, beliefs, ethnicities and cultures.
Seeks their own supervision as needed.
May delegate these responsibilities to the associate clinical supervisor when one is staffed:
Helps clinicians with insurance paneling: BCBC, Aetna, etc.
Holds a monthly clinician consultation group, either in person or online.
Provides expertise and support to the Board of Directors during any clinical hiring or promotion process.
Starting pay is $80,000 seeing 20 client/week.
Associate Clinical Supervisor bills at $160/session - Seeking 0 (internal hire)
Clinically licensed.
Minimum 5 years of experience post clinical licensure.
Knows ACA ethical guidelines and has a strong ethical focus.
Paneled with BCBS or Aetna preferred.
Currently seeing 7 clients preferred.
Maintains a caseload of 20 clients per week.
Punctual starting and ending sessions.
Is aware of the importance of cultural humility, especially when working with clients of all backgrounds, beliefs, ethnicities and cultures.
Seeks their own supervision as needed.
May do the following if delegated by the Clinical Supervisor:
Verify clinician compliance with liability insurance, licensure, CEUs, etc.
Helps clinicians with insurance paneling: BCBC, Aetna, etc.
Reviews client impact surveys (feedback informed therapy is mandatory to track client care).
Quarterly approves clinicians for seeing more than 20 clients per week.
Holds a monthly clinician consultation group, either in person or online.
Coordinates office time with the office manager to allow for other non-profit activities (i.e. Thursday night ESL class).
Opens/closes the office unless otherwise agreed upon with the Office Manager.
Tactfully addresses difficult performance evaluations with clinicians.
Provides expertise and support to the Board of Directors during any clinical hiring or promotion process.
Starting pay is $72,000 seeing 20 client/week.
Clinically Licensed Counselors - Seeking 4 with preference given to LMFTs
LMFT, LCPC or LCSW.
Maintains licensure, liability insurance and CEU compliance.
Knows ACA ethical guidelines and has a strong ethical focus.
Paneled with BCBS or Aetna preferred.
Currently seeing 7 clients preferred.
Maintains a professional demeanor.
Punctual starting and ending sessions.
Is knowledgeable and skilled in practicing trauma-informed counseling.
Has experience billing with an EHR - TherapyNotes preferred.
Is intentional in repair work when rupture occurs.
Has a desire to improve their clinical skills.
Provides a secure space for telehealth outside of the GR offices.
Is aware of the importance of cultural humility, especially when working with clients of all backgrounds, beliefs, ethnicities and cultures.
Seeks their own supervision as needed.
Attends group consultation at least once a month, as it is provided.
Starting pay is $52,000 seeing 20 client/week.

Clinicians are expected to be competent and humble in approaching this work. Good communication with management, office mates and other staff is essential. GR welcomes innovation and curious minds with an interest in research or development.
