Garden Refuge, Inc. is a nonprofit counseling center building a sustainable clinical model that expands access to care and supports the training of future clinicians. We are currently hiring independently licensed Illinois therapists (LCPC, LMFT, LCSW) for telehealth roles (immediate need) and in-person roles in Springfield, Illinois.

Telehealth Therapist (Illinois Licensed) — Immediate Openings

Supervision: Currently not provided for this position (fully licensed clinicians only)

​​Work Mode: 100% Remote / Telehealth

​Compensation 1099

• Minimum 5 client/week

• Per-session pay model

• 70/30 split

• Clinically licensed by the state of Illinois

• EHR provided (TherapyNotes)

• Insurance paneling preferred

• Expected to be fairly independent as a contractor

​Compensation W2

• Per-session pay model. $68.25 per session

• Minimum of 20 clients/week without cancelations. We will not push you to see more than 20, but you can if you wish

• ~ $68,000 to $88,000

• PTO accrues starting after 90 days of employment. 10 days per year, prorated based on start date

• EHR (TherapyNotes)

• Billing and claims submission support

• Advertising and client referrals

• Administrative infrastructure so clinicians can focus on clinical work

Strong preference for clinicians already paneled with Blue Cross Blue Shield and Aetna. Additional commercial insurance paneling is a plus. ​​​

Documentation & Workflow Expectations

• Notes and insurance billing submissions are due weekly.

• Trauma-informed, ethical care and professional documentation standards are expected

In-Person Therapist (Springfield, IL)

Location: 850 S Spring St, Suite B, Springfield, Illinois 62704 (3 openings)
Schedule: Tuesday–Friday availability required during Spring semester to accommodate practicum students. Office sharing will be handled on a semester by semester basis depending on our mix of practicum and intern students. Offices are fully furnished.​

Compensation W2. Inquire about being a 1099

• Per-session pay model. $68.25 per session

• Minimum of 20 clients/week 

• ~ $68,000 to $88,000

Monday Office Space Currently Limited

As a nonprofit, Mondays are reserved for practicum students providing in-person therapy to underserved clients as part of Garden Refuge’s training and access-to-care mission. This is for the Spring semester only.

About the Mission

Garden Refuge is a nonprofit. Revenue from counseling services supports the operational capacity that allows:

• Practicum students to provide in-person therapy to underserved clients

• Intern training and clinical supervision to be sustained responsibly

• Providing group discounted trainings (EMDR, Theraplay, Gottman, etc) for local clinicians

Telehealth and in-person roles serve different but complementary functions within the same mission.
