Josh Eaves
Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and U.S. Army veteran, Josh brings a background that spans military service, high-pressure government roles, and clinical settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and community environments.
That breadth of experience shapes an approach that is practical and collaborative, focused on understanding what is and is not working, then building tools that translate into real daily life. Drawing on CBT, EMDR, DBT, mindfulness-based interventions, and clinical hypnosis, Josh helps clients move beyond surface-level coping toward a deeper sense of purpose and clarity.
A specialization in working with veterans runs throughout his practice. Having served in the military himself, Josh understands the distinct pressures and transitions that veterans face, and works closely with the veteran community in the Springfield area, including through connections with local VA resources.
Particular focus is placed on high achievers and thoughtful people navigating anxiety, difficulty focusing, or feelings of being stuck despite understanding the "why."
Now part of the Garden Refuge Nonprofit and Counseling Center team in Springfield, Illinois, Josh contributes his clinical depth and firsthand military experience to an organization committed to building long-term resilience in individuals, families, and communities.
